We are a DIY movement to change the course of society to serve everyone and the planet we inhabit.
We believe this is possible through nonviolent revolution in the electoral arena where we can create a participatory democracy.
This is in conjunction with direct action in the streets and the use of independent media.
Because we are working to create a new paradigm from the local-level up, we are dismissed as disorganized by those stuck in hierarchical, top-down, ways of being. This is not to say that there are not daily struggles to ensure that we Greens don’t get stuck in those old patterns ourselves at times, but we make an effort to overcome these deeply learned societal behaviors.
We continue despite the slander because we want the future to be different for the generations to follow. The current system only works for a few, and only for the short-term.
Greens want to see an end to corporate-control of our lives and government and an end to the two-party monopolization of the electoral system.
Green Parties around the world are working to create a new basis for living on this planet with a new democratic government though these guiding principles:
…Ecological Wisdom
…Social Justice
…Patricipatory Democracy
…Nonviolence
…Sustainability
…Respect for Diversity
