Code § 181.061(c); GPTX By-Laws & Rules, Article V, Section 4] The place selected for a precinct convention must meet the same requirements for access by the elderly and persons with physical disabilities as a polling place under Section 43.034(a). Counties may hold all precinct conventions together in the same location and there is no requirement that all precincts be represented. | Wednesday, March 10 (1st day after precinct conventions) |
Petitioning for ballot access begins Because we will need to collect at least 45,540 valid signatures, we should set a goal of 150% of the minimum requirement, or 68,000 total signatures This will assume a 70% validity ratio, which is a standard estimate for a large petition drive such as this. |
If everyone in attendance at the 2003 State Convention will collect 20 signatures per week for the 10-week petitioning period, we will have 30,000 signatures toward our 68,000. |
